The only Japanese tipper in the Australian market with more than 500hp and much more torque than its nearest rival, the Fuso Shogun 510 Tipper has been unveiled in Brisbane.

The Shogun 510 also delivers a productivity advantage as it has the lightest tare weight of any tipper in Australia with 500hp or more, equating to more payload on every run.

Fuso is presenting the 510 Tipper, prepared by Daimler Trucks Gold Coast, alongside the regular 510 prime mover at the Brisbane Truck Show, which runs from May 18-21 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The Shogun 510 was developed specifically for Australian and New Zealand customers.

Fuso sourced a 13-litre OM471 engine from the Daimler Truck family, creating the ultimate Japanese truck that belts out 510hp and 2500Nm of torque. The package also includes a smart shifting DT12 fully Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), which is well-suited to the engine.

Fuso Truck and Bus Australia director, Alex Müller, said he is pleased to present the 510 Tipper for the first time at the Brisbane show.

“The Shogun 510 Tipper has been embraced enthusiastically by Australian customers who are thrilled to have a Japanese tipper and dog with more than 500hp as well as the aftersales support that comes with every Fuso,” he said.

“Our Shogun 510 customers absolutely love them and you can see the passion with the amount of 510s that are being customised with stainless steel and extra lights.”

Like all Shoguns, the 510 comes standard with a full suite of active safety features including Advanced Emergency Braking System (AEBS) radar/camera technology which uses camera and radar camera technology to provide enhanced pedestrian sensing capability, making it able to completely stop for a moving pedestrian in the event the driver does not respond to an audible warning. This system is standard on all Shogun models, as is radar adaptive cruise control.

Shoguns also comes standard with Active Attention Assist (AAA), a Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), a driver airbag, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and a Hill Start System (HSS).

Other standard features include Intelligent Headlight Control, which automatically turns on and off the truck’s highbeam function in response to traffic and is standard. Daytime LED running lamps, positioned below the main headlight assembly are also standard on all Shogun models.

The Shogun features an ergonomic interior, complete with push button start, 7-inch high resolution touch-screen centre display with easy to reach controls and the range-topping 510 model gains a premium leather-wrap steering wheel. All Shoguns also come with a driver’s steering wheel-mounted airbag.

Shogun models feature class-leading servicing intervals across the range, helping drive down the cost of ownership. They are supported by the expansive Daimler Truck dealership network.

The Shogun is also backed by a generous Fuso manufacturer warranty that covers the truck for five years or 500,000km, whichever comes first.
